Charity begins with a safe home for Red Balloon

Red Balloon Learner Centres are a small national charity focused on providing safe havens for bullied children. Based at former domestic residences, they provide a non-institutional feel for vulnerable children. The Learner Centres operate for three terms each year, just like regular schools, and the children arrive each morning by 9.00 am and leave at 3.30 pm, again just like ‘normal’ schools.

The charity decided to sell its property in Merseyside and with resources stretched and no staff nearby Ad Hoc were engaged to provide a cost effective security and protection solution.

Fast deployment provided cover by Ad Hoc Guardians, ensuring the latest void property was protected by hand-picked individuals who looked after the property in an exemplary manner. The result: full protection for the property, cost savings and peace of mind for the client and an enduring partnership.

“As a small national charity, monitoring the security and fabric of a property we decided to sell in Merseyside in August 2013 would have been an enormous strain on our resources with our closest employee living more than 150 miles away. Ad Hoc came to our rescue with their ‘Guardian’ service.  Not long after our initial meeting five guardians were identified and moved into the property providing us with peace of mind.
In addition to ensuring the building remained occupied and secure, Ad Hoc undertook monthly inspections which provided additional reassurance as to the condition of the property whilst it remained on the market for sale.  The winter of 2013/14 was particularly bad and having the Guardians in residence enabled us to deal with some minor storm damage issues in a timely manner.  We completed on the sale of the property in May 2014 and the Guardians stayed in occupation providing the security we required until 48 hours before the keys were handed over the new owners.
The service provided by Ad Hoc far exceeded our expectations and I have no hesitation in recommending their services as a way to secure vacant properties through temporary occupation.”
